Agreement on the Collection and Usage of Personal Information

The 16th Asia-Pacific Musculoskeletal Tumor Society Meeting 2027 (hereinafter referred to as APMSTS 2027) establishes and discloses the following personal information handling guidelines in order to protect the personal information of information subjects in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and to promptly and smoothly handle related grievances. APMSTS 2027's privacy policy may be changed according to changes in government laws and guidelines, our terms and conditions and internal policies, and any changes will be posted on the website immediately.

1. Purpose of collection and use of personal information

APMSTS 2027 collects and uses personal information for the following purposes within the minimum scope to provide optimal services to users.

1) Processing related tasks such as conference registration, abstract submission, program notification, registration confirmation, certificate issuance, and post-service provision

2) APMSTS 2027 conference information, updates, newsletters and other promotional information transmission and marketing activities (e-mail, text message, postal)

3) Collection of personal information when inquiring through website inquiry

2. Items of personal information to be collected and methods of collection

APMSTS 2027 collects the minimum personal information necessary to provide information and conference management services by classifying them into essential and optional information.

Required items are information necessary to perform the essential functions of the service, and optional items are information that does not affect the use of the service itself, but is additionally collected to provide additional value to users.

The name, company name, company phone, mobile phone, and e-mail that are required to be collected are used to classify users according to service operation and use the service. There are no restrictions or disadvantages in using the service even if you do not enter the optional items.

3. Period of retention and use of personal information, and destruction

APMSTS 2027 collects and retains personal information only in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations and the consent of the information subject, and the retention period and use period are within 5 business days from the end of the retention period, except as stipulated in other laws and regulations, and the purpose of processing personal information When the personal information becomes unnecessary, such as achievement, abolition of the service, or termination of the business, the personal information is also destroyed within 5 business days.
However, if the user requests a separate withdrawal, the collected personal information is completely deleted from the hard disk by a method that cannot be reproduced and is processed so that it cannot be viewed or used for any purpose.

  • Newsletter members: If you request to withdraw your consent after reconfirming your consent every year, it will be destroyed within 5 business days
  • Inquiry information: As evidence for APMSTS 2027 inquiries, separate storage after 3 years of storage

2) How to destroy personal information
Personal information printed on paper is shredded or destroyed by incineration, and personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using a technical method that cannot reproduce records.

4. Provision and consignment of personal information

In principle, APMSTS 2027 uses customers' personal information only for the purpose of collection and use, and does not disclose it to others or other companies or institutions.
However, for the purpose of sending advertising DMs, we entrust the handling of personal information to an external professional company as follows.

5. Matters concerning the installation, operation and rejection of the automatic personal information collection device

In order to provide personalized and customized services to individuals, APMSTS 2027 uses cookies to store and retrieve user information from time to time.
A cookie is a small data package that the server used to operate the website sends to the user's browser and is stored on the hard disk of the user's computer.

To analyze user access frequency and visit time, identify number of visits, etc.

2) How to reject cookie settings
You have the option to install cookies.
Therefore, you can accept all cookies by setting options in your web browser, check each time a cookie is saved, or refuse to save all cookies.

6. Measures to secure the safety of personal information

1)Encryption of personal information
Customers' personal information is safely protected through encryption solutions during transmission and storage.

2)Establishment of information security system
The web server is operated by an organization equipped with a complete data center facility system (emergency generator, UPS, constant temperature and humidity, etc.) and a multi-level security system, and is protected against physical intrusion.
Internally, the server is primarily protected by a firewall and web firewall, and a secondary backup system is prepared to prevent data loss even in case of emergency through a double backup system.

3) Restriction of access to personal information processing system
Access to personal information is controlled by granting, changing, and erasing records of access to the personal information processing system, and unauthorized access from outside is controlled through an intrusion prevention system and DB access control solution.

4)Minimization of personal information handling staff and training
Personal information handling personnel are minimized to those who perform personal information management tasks and those who are unavoidable in the handling of personal information for business. We also check and take corrective action if any problems are found.

7. User rights and how to exercise them

Customers may request to view their personal information processed by APMSTS 2027, and may request correction or deletion of errors in their personal information.
However, if the personal information is specified as a collection target in other laws, the deletion cannot be requested.
Complaints are handled through e-mail (info@apmsts2027.kr) for personal information complaint handling and inquiries.
APMSTS 2027 handles personal information that has been canceled or deleted at the request of the user as specified in the period of retention and use of personal information collected by APMSTS 2027, and handles it so that it cannot be viewed or used for any other purpose.

Terms of use

Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) are intended to define the conditions, procedures, and responsibilities related to the use of the official website (https://apmsts2027.kr/, hereinafter referred to as the “Services”) operated by the Secretariat of APMSTS 2027.

Article 2 (Definitions)
The terms used in these Terms shall be defined as follows:

1) “Member” refers to an individual who agrees to these Terms, completes the registration process, and is granted a User ID by the Secretariat.

2) “Use Contract” refers to the agreement concluded between the Secretariat and the Member regarding the use of the Services, including these Terms.

3) “User ID” refers to the unique combination of letters and numbers assigned to a Member for identification and access to the Services.

4) “Password” refers to the confidential combination of characters set by the Member to verify identity.

5) “Secretariat” refers to the organizing body responsible for the operation and management of the Services for APMSTS 2027.

6) “Termination” refers to the cancellation of the Use Contract by the Member or the Secretariat.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms)
1) These Terms shall become effective upon being posted on the website or otherwise communicated to Members.

2) The Secretariat may amend these Terms when deemed necessary, and any amendments shall be promptly notified to Members via the website or other appropriate means.

Article 4 (Applicable Rules)
Matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by applicable laws and regulations of the Republic of Korea and relevant internal policies of the Secretariat.

Chapter 2 Membership and Use Contract

Article 5 (Formation of Use Contract)
1) The Use Contract shall be established upon the Member’s agreement to these Terms and the Secretariat’s approval of the application.

2) Agreement to these Terms shall be deemed given when the applicant clicks the “I Agree” button during the registration process.

Article 6 (Application for Membership)
1) Applicants shall apply for membership by completing the online registration form provided on the website.

2) All applicants must provide accurate and truthful information.

3) Any use of false information or unauthorized use of another person’s information may result in denial of service or legal liability under applicable laws.

Article 7 (Approval and Restriction of Application)
The Secretariat shall approve applications submitted in accordance with Articles 5 and 6.
1. The Secretariat may deny approval in the following cases:
1) Where false or inaccurate information is provided
2) Where the application is made for unlawful or improper purposes
3) Where the use of the Services is intended to harm public order or morals
4) Where the applicant fails to meet the eligibility requirements

2. The Secretariat may defer approval under the following circumstances:
1) Insufficient system or facility capacity
2) Technical or operational issues
3) Other unavoidable circumstances related to the conference or affiliated organizations

3. The Secretariat reserves the right to revoke approval if any of the above grounds are identified after registration.

Article 8 (Modification of Member Information)
1) Members shall promptly update any changes to their registered information.
2) The Secretariat shall not be responsible for any disadvantages arising from failure to update such information.

Chapter 3 Obligations of the Parties

Article 9 (Obligations of the Secretariat)
1) The Secretariat shall not disclose or provide Members’ personal information to third parties without consent, except where required by law.
2) Personal information may be used for statistical and administrative purposes within the scope necessary for the operation of the conference.
3) The Secretariat shall endeavor to maintain stable and continuous operation of the Services.

Article 10 (Obligations of Members)
1. Members shall provide accurate and up-to-date information.
2. Members shall not engage in the following activities:
1) Unauthorized use of another Member’s credentials
2) Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of Service content
3) Infringement of intellectual property rights
4) Posting or distributing content that violates public order and morals
5) Any activity related to criminal conduct
5) Violation of applicable laws or these Terms
3. Members shall comply with all policies, notices, and guidelines issued by the Secretariat.
4. Members shall not use the Services for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
5. Members shall not transfer or assign their rights or obligations under the Use Contract without prior approval of the Secretariat.

Article 11 (Management of User ID and Password)
1) Members are solely responsible for the management of their User ID and Password.
2) The Secretariat shall not be liable for any damages arising from negligence in managing such information.

Chapter 4 Use of Services

Article 12 (Service Availability)
1) The Services shall, in principle, be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
2) The Secretariat may temporarily suspend the Services for maintenance, system upgrades, or operational needs, with prior notice where practicable.
3) The Services may be suspended without prior notice in cases of system failure, force majeure, or other unavoidable circumstances.

Article 13 (Member Content)
1. “Content” refers to all materials uploaded by Members, including text, images, files, and links.
2. The Secretariat reserves the right to remove or restrict Content without prior notice if it:
1) Defames or harms others
2) Violates public order or morals
3) Is used for commercial or promotional purposes
4) Is related to illegal activities
5) Infringes intellectual property rights
6) Contains inappropriate political or religious expressions
7) Is inconsistent with the purpose of the conference
8) Violates applicable laws

Article 14 (Intellectual Property Rights)
1) Intellectual property rights to content created by the Secretariat shall belong to the Secretariat. 2) Intellectual property rights to Content posted by Members shall belong to the respective Members.
3) The Secretariat may use Member Content for non-commercial purposes related to the conference, within the scope permitted by law.
4) Members shall not commercially exploit any materials obtained through the Services.

Article 15 (Provision of Information)
1) The Secretariat may provide Members with notices and information related to the conference via e-mail, SMS, or other communication channels.
2) Members may opt out of such communications through account settings.

Chapter 5 Termination and Restriction of Use

Article 16 (Termination and Suspension)
1) Members may terminate the Use Contract by submitting a request via the website or by contacting the Secretariat at info@apmsts2027.kr
2) The Secretariat may terminate or suspend a Member’s access to the Services without prior notice in the event of a violation of these Terms.
